The Light Dreams is actually Sheffield musician/composer/artist Alex Storer.
Having grown up listening to Jean Michel Jarre’s Oxygène and Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, Alex’s interest in both electronic and instrumental music had been forged from an early age. His eventual discovery of artists such as Peter Gabriel, David Bowie and John Foxx (to name but a few) would only add to his love of innovative, thought-provoking and inspiring music.
In 2006, Alex finally decided to try his hand at creating his own instrumental soundscapes. He soon found that creating music was not unlike painting – just using sounds instead of colours. Alex’s music is often like a soundtrack to the the worlds he explores in my artwork, but is also inspired by science-fiction, travel and dreams.
In late 2012, Alex accepted the invitation to be the first Honorary Interstellar Musician for the Institute for Interstellar Studies™ (www.i4is.org)
